Customer research Strategy and planning Branding and social direction

Most marketing fails on the thinking, not the posting.

Customer research, marketing strategy, brand direction and social planning, on a monthly retainer. I do the analysis and hand you a plan your team can run.

Services

Four things, done properly.

Narrow on purpose. These are the pieces most small businesses never get, because agencies would rather sell execution.

Customer and market analysis
Where every engagement starts

Who actually buys from you, why they chose you over the alternative, and what the people who did not buy were worried about. Built from your own data, your customers, and the competitors already in the conversation. Most businesses are guessing here, and everything downstream inherits the guess.

  • Customer interviews and surveys
  • Buyer profiles from real data
  • Competitor and positioning analysis
  • Market and demand sizing
  • Review and objection mining
  • Where your demand comes from
Included in retainer
Marketing strategy and planning
The plan your team runs

Positioning, messaging, which channels deserve your money and which do not, and a plan with dates on it. Written so somebody can pick it up and act on it, rather than a deck that gets admired once and filed.

  • Positioning and messaging
  • Channel strategy and budget split
  • Campaign and launch plans
  • Offer and pricing structure
  • What to measure, and the targets
  • Quarterly planning and review
Included in retainer
Brand direction
Guidelines, not execution

What your brand stands for, how it sounds, and what it should look like, written down so every person and vendor you hire stays consistent. I define the direction and hand over guidelines. A designer executes the logo and the assets, and I will tell you what to brief them on.

  • Brand positioning and promise
  • Voice and messaging guidelines
  • Naming and taglines
  • Visual direction and references
  • A brief your designer can use
  • Guidelines your vendors follow
Included in retainer
Social strategy and audits
You post, I plan

An honest audit of what you are posting now, what is working, and what is wasting your time. Then a content plan with themes, formats and a cadence your team can actually keep. I do not run accounts or post on your behalf, which means I have no reason to tell you that posting more is the answer.

  • Channel audit and benchmarking
  • Content pillars and themes
  • A calendar your team can run
  • Format and platform picks
  • Profile and bio rewrites
  • What to stop doing
Included in retainer
How the retainer works

An outside marketing lead, a few days a month.

Cheaper than a hire, more useful than a one time report nobody opens twice.

1Opening month

The first month is research. Your data, your customers, your competitors, and a clear read on where demand comes from today. It ends with the analysis and a first plan, presented in a working session rather than emailed over.

Output
  • Customer and market analysis
  • Positioning recommendation
  • A first ninety day plan
2Every month after

One working session a month, plus whichever piece of work the plan calls for next. One month that might be a social audit and calendar, the next a brand guidelines document, the next a campaign plan. Between sessions I am reachable for the questions that come up when a plan meets the real world.

Output
  • A monthly working session
  • One substantive deliverable
  • Access between sessions
3Every quarter

We look at what happened against what the plan expected. What worked gets more room, what did not gets cut, and the next quarter is planned with evidence instead of instinct. This is the part that makes a retainer worth more than a project.

Output
  • Review against targets
  • Next quarter plan
  • Budget recommendation
What this does not include

Being specific here is the point. A firm boundary is why the advice stays honest, and it keeps you from paying me for work your own team can do better.

  • Running your social accounts. No posting, no scheduling, no community management, no account access. I plan it, your team publishes it.
  • Paid advertising management. I am not buying or managing media. If ads belong in your plan, I will say so and help you brief whoever runs them.
  • Design and development execution. I write the brief and the guidelines. A designer or developer builds from them.
  • Video production. Separate work, with its own page and its own price. Plenty of clients take one without the other.
Pricing

Questions

Before you start.

Will you run our social media accounts?−
No, and that is deliberate. I build the strategy, the content plan and the calendar, and your team posts it. Keeping execution with you means the advice is not shaped by wanting to protect a management fee, and you keep control of your own accounts.
Do you manage paid ads?+
Not at the moment. If advertising belongs in your plan, I will tell you what to spend, where, and what the creative should say, then help you brief whoever runs the campaigns. I would rather point you to someone good than learn on your budget.
Do we have to buy video too?+
No. Strategy and video production are separate engagements with separate prices. Some clients take both because the plan calls for content, and plenty take one without the other.
How long before we see results?+
The analysis produces useful answers inside the first month. Positioning and messaging changes usually show up in how prospects respond within a quarter. Anything promising a specific revenue number on a specific date is guessing, and you should be suspicious of it.
Who does the work?+
Me. There is no team, no account manager, and nobody junior doing the analysis while a senior name sits on the proposal. Sessions happen in person around Jacksonville, or over video anywhere else.
What do you need from us to start?+
Access to what you already have: sales numbers, website and social analytics, a customer list if you keep one, and an hour with whoever talks to customers most. If some of that does not exist, finding that out is itself part of the first month.

Start with the analysis.

A short call to see whether the problem is your marketing or something upstream of it. If it is upstream, I will tell you that instead of selling you a plan.
